Hunt Mortgage Group, a leader in financing commercial real estate throughout the United States, announced today that William Hyman has been named the chair of the Fannie Mae DUS® Lender Advisory Council. The council consists of ten DUS lender representatives that advise Fannie Mae Multifamily leadership on a variety of strategic matters.
Hyman is a Senior Managing Director at Hunt Mortgage Group and serves as the firm’s Fannie Mae DUS® CEO. He is responsible for Agency Relationship Management and strategic technology and training initiatives.
“Our relationship with Fannie Mae has always been strong and efficient, due in large part to Bill’s involvement and leadership within the agency,” commented Jim Flynn, President and Chief Investment Officer at Hunt Mortgage Group. “As a leader in delivering Fannie Mae loans to clients throughout the United States, it is very important that we remain actively involved. We are pleased that Bill has elevated his status at Fannie Mae.”
Upon learning about the Chairmanship, Hyman noted, “I have enjoyed serving on the Advisory Council the last couple of years, and am honored to have the opportunity to serve as Chair. The Advisory Council plays a vital role in fostering the DUS partnership between the lenders and Fannie Mae that has been the basis of the program’s success for so many years.”
Previously, Hyman oversaw Hunt Mortgage Group’s production activities for conventional multifamily properties under its Fannie Mae DUS® and Freddie Mac product lines, and commercial properties under its proprietary lending programs. Under Hyman’s leadership, the business significantly grew its lending volume to reach more than $2 billion annually.
Hyman has been with Hunt Mortgage Group since 1988, following the merger of PW Funding, where he was Co-President, and CharterMac (a predecessor firm). He has been instrumental in expanding the business over the past four years, opening new production offices in: Chicago, Miami, Seattle, Cleveland, Buffalo and Charleston.
Hyman also serves on the governance council of The Yale Club of New York City, and chairs the club’s Finance Committee.
