Hunt Mortgage Group, a leader in financing commercial real estate throughout the United States, announced today that Barry Polen has joined the firm as Managing Director, Capital Markets. In this role, he will focus on expanding Hunt Mortgage Group’s capital markets activities and its commercial lending business nationwide.

Polen comes to Hunt Mortgage Group from Guggenheim Securities in New York, where he was a Managing Director. In that role he was the head of the Commercial Real Estate Debt trading desk and also worked with Guggenheim’s Commercial Real Estate Finance group on their securitization activities.   He will operate out of the firm’s New York office and will report to Jon Trauben, Senior Managing Director.

Prior to Guggenheim, Polen was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse, where he was the head of CMBS Capital Markets, a role he had for almost nine years. Before that he was a Vice President with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he served as a CMBS Bond Structurer. Earlier in his career he held positions at Morgan Stanley, and Ernst & Whinney.

Polen earned a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He is also a Certified Public Account.
